Dear Vincent,
I submitted the plans again.
They were rejected.
The panel felt the buildings were too… building-like.
They suggested something more organic, fluid, and non-imposing.
I proposed a large patch of uncut grass with an artist’s statement.
They said I was finally “getting it.”
Meanwhile, I presented the financials to investors.
They nodded.
Then one asked, “But have you considered making it greener?”
I assured him we were pursuing LEED certification.
He clarified, “No, I mean literally. Just… more green.
I am now looking into coating the entire structure in AstroTurf.
I was also told that the development needed more public engagement
I asked how much was enough
They said, “You’ll know when you feel it.” I have been standing in the town square for three days, waiting to feel it.
Nothing yet.
In other news, the city planner suggested I add “a sense of whimsy.”
I replaced all load-bearing walls with interpretive dance spaces.
I am told this is still too rigid.
I will be withdrawing to the woods to live among simpler creatures, like zoning officials.
Send whatever you can.
Yours, Theo
