Lacking a “sense of place.”

Dear Vincent,

Once again, I find myself in need of patience. I know what a burden I must be to you, but who else will listen?

The latest revision has been rejected—not for structural concerns, not for budgetary reasons, but because it lacks a “sense of place.”

What does that mean?

I asked.

They said it’s more of a vibe. A vibe!

I am now studying ancient mysticism to see if I can summon one.

Meanwhile, funds are running low.

I am designing exclusively with napkin sketches and unpaid optimism, improvising as I go, and the results are exciting.

The budget for consultants has evaporated.

I have replaced the sustainability expert with a man who enjoys fresh air.

The public engagement team is now a pigeon that once landed on my model.

God! I have no money left for renderings

Today I presented my vision using hand shadows against the conference room wall.

It was described as “intriguing but lacking a digital-first approach.”

Now I am lonely.

Yours, Theo
